Resolve a domain’s DNS records: A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, or SOA. Enter a domain, pick a record type, and see the answer straight from a public DNS resolver.

The domain you enter is sent directly from your browser to Google’s public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver (dns.google). We never see or store the domain you look up, or the result.

How to use

  1. Enter a domain

Type a domain name like "example.com", without "http://" or a path.

  2. Pick a record type

Choose A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, or SOA, then click "Look Up".

  3. Read the results

Each matching record appears with its value and time-to-live (TTL) in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Which DNS resolver does this use?

Google's public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver (dns.google). It returns whatever is currently published for that domain, which is usually what resolvers worldwide see too, though DNS changes can take time to propagate everywhere.

Why do I see no results for a domain I know is working?

Not every domain publishes every record type. A domain might have an A record but no MX record if it doesn't receive email, for example. No results for a given type usually just means that record doesn't exist.

Is the domain I look up stored anywhere?

No. It's sent directly from your browser to Google's resolver, and the answer is shown to you. We don't log or store the query or the result.
