Key features
Enter your height and weight in either metric or imperial units to calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI) and see which weight category it falls into. BMI is a quick, widely used screening measure — it doesn’t account for muscle mass, bone density, or body composition, so it’s best treated as a general indicator rather than a diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions
What do the BMI categories mean?
Using the standard adult BMI scale: under 18.5 is considered underweight, 18.5–24.9 is normal, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30 or above is considered obese. These ranges come from the World Health Organization and are meant for adults — they don’t apply the same way to children or teens.
Is BMI an accurate measure of health?
BMI is a useful, quick screening tool, but it only accounts for height and weight — it can't tell the difference between muscle and fat. A muscular athlete can have a 'high' BMI despite having low body fat. Treat it as one data point, not a full picture of your health, and talk to a doctor for personalized advice.
Is my data saved anywhere?
No. Your height and weight are used only to calculate BMI locally in your browser — nothing is transmitted or stored.
