Key features

Live camera preview with no delay
Switch between multiple cameras, if your device has them
Shows the actual resolution and frame rate your camera is streaming
100% private — nothing is recorded or uploaded

Grant camera access and see a live preview right on this page — a fast way to confirm your webcam works before a video call, check focus and lighting, or pick between multiple cameras if your device has more than one.

The video preview stays entirely in your browser. Nothing is recorded, streamed, or uploaded anywhere — closing this page or pressing “Stop” immediately releases the camera.

How to use

  1. Press "Start camera test"

Your browser will ask for camera permission — allow it to continue.

  2. Check the preview

You should see a live, mirrored preview from your webcam appear instantly.

  3. Switch cameras if needed

If your device has more than one camera, pick a different one from the dropdown.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my preview mirrored?

The preview is flipped horizontally to feel natural, like looking in a mirror — this matches how most video call apps show your own camera. It doesn't affect what other people would see if you were on an actual call.

I don't see any cameras in the dropdown — why?

Camera names only appear after you grant permission at least once (this is a browser privacy protection). If the list is still empty, your device may not have a camera, or another application may be using it exclusively.

Is my video recorded or sent anywhere?

No. The preview is shown directly from your camera to this page and nothing else — it's never recorded, streamed, or uploaded. Pressing "Stop" (or leaving the page) immediately releases the camera, and most browsers show a camera-in-use indicator the whole time it's active.
