Key features

Tests all 17 standard-mapped buttons, including both triggers
Live visualization for both analog joysticks
Works with Xbox, PlayStation, and most generic USB/Bluetooth controllers
100% private — input is only ever displayed, never recorded

Connect a controller — Xbox, PlayStation, or most generic USB/Bluetooth gamepads — press any button on it, and watch it light up here instantly, with both joysticks and analog triggers shown live. Useful for checking a drifting stick, a button that doesn’t register, or confirming a controller works before starting a game.

Your browser reads controller input using the standard Gamepad API. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere — it’s only ever displayed live on this page.

How to use

  1. Connect your controller

Plug it in via USB, or pair it over Bluetooth, then press any button on it.

  2. Watch it get detected

This page automatically detects the controller once it sends its first input.

  3. Test every input

Press each button and move both joysticks and triggers to confirm they all register correctly.

Frequently asked questions

My controller isn't showing up — what should I try?

Press a button on the controller first — most browsers only detect a gamepad after it sends its first input, not just when it's plugged in or paired. Also make sure it's fully paired (for Bluetooth) or firmly connected (for USB).

Why are the button labels A/B/X/Y even for a PlayStation controller?

This uses the "standard" gamepad button layout that browsers map every controller to, which is based on Xbox-style naming. On a PlayStation controller, A/B/X/Y correspond to ✕/○/□/△ in the same physical positions.

A joystick shows movement even when I'm not touching it — is that a problem?

That's stick drift — a worn or dirty analog stick reporting a small amount of input at rest. If the dot doesn't sit at dead center when the stick is untouched, it points to a hardware issue with that stick.

Is my controller input recorded anywhere?

No. Button and joystick state is read live using the browser's Gamepad API purely to display on this page — nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
