Frequently asked questions

What does locking a color do?

A locked color is kept in place when you regenerate — useful once you find one swatch you like and want to keep exploring options for the rest of the palette around it.

How does "From base color" work?

It keeps your chosen color’s hue and saturation, and generates a ramp of five lightness steps — from a dark shade to a light tint — which is a quick way to get a coordinated set of colors for things like button states or a single-color UI theme.

Is my palette saved anywhere?

No. It exists only in this browser tab — nothing is stored or transmitted.
